Although her family lives out in Herriman, clear across the valley from Cottonwood High School, Olympic silver medal winning swimmer Rhyan White was a star on the Colts’ swim team a few years ago, while she attended the charter school housed inside Cottonwood: AMES (Academy for Math, Engineering & Science) High School. Students of AMES and Cottonwood recently attended an assembly there, to honor their decorated athlete.
